Joining the likes of Topshop, Zara and River Island, H&M has landed on Cape Town shores. The much anticipated (and long anticipated) arrival of H&M has been welcomed by a glitzy double storey flagship store in the Waterfront. The Waterfront has been bustling with unusually high volumes of human traffic since the official opening on 17 October, so I’ve steered away from all the commotion until today. The store boasts an upstairs and downstairs floor, the one ladieswear and other menswear, including an activewear, kids and accessories department amongst others. Just in time for summer, H&M is yet another addition to the Waterfront’s choice of A list stores.
With the exciting additions of quality fashion labels within Woolworths, Witchery and Mimco are the most recent additions within the last six months. Both stores have also opened their own stand alone stores in the Waterfront, similar to Country Road and Trenery.
Walking into the Witchery store I was impressed by the unparalleled visual merchandising and garment quality. The silhouettes are as current as you can get, in largely crisp whites and black, with accents of washed denim, red and gold. The monochromatic and minimal move towards a top to toe single colour is evident and doable with this collection. With the return of sandals with structured soft tailoring, this store gives more than enough options to make this look part of your lifestyle. Enough said, here’s a few images from their SS’14 catalogue …
Mr Price are relaunching their stores in an exciting new look and layout. Yesterday I had the opportunity to work as a stylista at the opening of the Canal Walk branch. There were great instore offers and prizes up for grabs, with personal stylists on the floor to help customers put tailor made trendy looks together. The new Mr Price smartphone app is also a new addition, available from the App Store and Google Play, allowing customers to shop online, view the latest instore arrivals, view lookbooks and put trending looks together.
It’s always great to work with the upbeat Mr Price team and see the extra mile they go for their customers. Check out the Canal Walk branch and other new stores launching country wide. Keep an eye out for the Waterfront branch opening in the next few months in Cape Town.
