I went onto the H&M site and found some super inspiring fashion and celebrity sketches by the talented French illustrator Florian Meacci. This guy is a fashion illustration guru. What I love about his art is the way he combines realist pencil sketches and portraits of iconic pop culture models and celebrities with fashion texture, colour and print to give it a multi dimensional feeling. And he’s a pro at it. He has been commissioned to do works for H&M, Adidas Originals, Dolce & Gabbana, Glamour and Kurt Geiger amongst others. Here is a taster of some of his works ::
Everyone’s been talking about the Isabel Marant collection for H&M that launched last week in stores. With a star studded campaign (featuring Milla Jovovich, Alek Wek, Daria Werbowy, Devon Aoki and Saskia de Brauw) and a range that saw the best pieces flying out of stores in the first few hours, fashionistas were in a frenzy. Celebs and socialites started posting images online of their Marant pieces with a “Look what I got first!” attitude. Customers queued overnight to get into stores first to get their hands on the most popular Marant items. In London stores customers were given 15 minute time slots to do their shopping in and were issued with different colour wristbands. Online sales went heywire as some online shoppers who had ordered items were later told items were out of stock due to the range being oversold in stores. The range consisted of ladies and menswear, with her beaded embellished jackets and grey tasseled boots selling out the fastest.
The French designer is best known for her easy wearing highend streetwear style, her unique crafted jackets and knitwear as well as her wedge high top sneakers.
